Eden Reawakens: Life After the Rains

Return to Botswana: Journey Through the Green Season

Photographic journey through the Okavango, Nxai Pan and Central Kalahari
February 2025

After the rains, Botswana transforms, the Kalahari turns green, the pans fill and life stirs again.

Through my lens, these photographs trace that renewal, moments of stillness, play and calm grace across the Central Kalahari, Nxai Pan and the Okavango Delta.

Rain transforms dust into reflection and parched grass into a green pulse of life. From the wide grasslands of the Central Kalahari to the salt pans of Nxai and the floodplains of the Okavango, animals return – lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, antelopes – following ancient paths renewed by water and light.

Even the elusive leopard steps into the open, and the cheetah, swift and solitary, surveys the glimmering plains once more.

This is Botswana after the rains — a season of renewal, of promise, of Eden awakening anew.
