Meet the Marine Pack – 26 Wild Dogs Thriving in the Okavango
In March 2025, the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust (BPCT) Wild Dog Project shared a powerful new video: the Marine Pack, a thriving group of 26 African wild dogs, racing full of energy across Moremi Game Reserve in northern Botswana.
These are the same wild dogs featured in my book, Nine Days in Eden—and it’s thrilling to see them doing so well in their natural habitat. Their resilience, social bonds and sheer joy are a testament to the power of conservation and the tireless work of the BPCT team.

Why It Matters: Conservation in Action.
The African wild dog is one of the continent’s most endangered predators. Efforts by the BPCT Wild Dog Project are vital to their survival—studying pack behaviour, protecting denning sites and raising awareness globally.
By tracking and safeguarding packs like the Marine Pack, BPCT is ensuring these incredible animals continue to roam free in places like the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve.
